Error 1305

L

Laurie

When attempting to reinstall Office XP Pro, I can't seem to get past Error
1305 - Setup cannot read file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\Web Components\10\owc10.dll. Does anybody have a clue about how to
fix it?

Try using the Microsoft Help and Support Website at
http://support.microsoft.com. In the "Search for" line, type in "Error
1305". When that page opens, choose the line that says:
"Error 1304" or "Error 1305" error message when you install Office 2000 or
Office XP
or click on the link below:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;321339
There are six (6) blue instruction lines to click on and open, but I think
you may need to first try cleaning your CD with a very mild soap and dry it
with a very soft, lint-free cloth, and then try installing again. If that
doesn't work, then try going to the website of the manufacturer of your
CDROM and see if there are any new driver files to download. If so, they
should automatically configure your autoexec.bat and your config.sys files.
