Error 1309 : Error reading file from :

K

Kelly

I'm currently trying to resolve 2 issues (that may or
maynot be related) on my MS 2000 Professional Dell Latitude
laptop.

1) Initially I was getting a 'Registry Error' upon setup :
"Cannot import C:\WINNT\sp.dll : Error opening the file.
There may be a disk or file system error." I can hit the
OK button and get out of it and was still able to use all
programs on my machine without issue.

2) However, in an effort to resolve this issue I
downloaded some updates from www.bigfix.com. Now I can no
longer launch an MS Office program (Word, PowerPoint, etc ..)

Upon launch I get a status window stating "Microsoft Office
200 SR-1 Premium" is installing. It then gets stuck when
"Error 1309 : Error reading from file :
C:\MyInstallations\PFiles\Common\MSShared\Themes\THEMES.INF.
Verify that the files exists and that you can access it."

If I hit the "ignore" button, I will get a constant stream
of these error windows for all the other files it can't
find (MS07FTP.EXE, MS07FTPA.EXE, MS07FTPS.EXE, ACWZUSR.MDT,
etc ...)

It finally errors out when it can't find
"MyInstallations\Windows\Help\WZCNFLCT.CHM" and it doesn't
give me the option to "ignore" only to "retry" or "cancel"
so I cancel out.

If you could help me figure out how to fix this I would be
extremely appreciative!

Thanks,
Kelly
