I have seen many forums where people have experienced Error 1309, bu
none of them match the problem I have observed, nor have they bee
resolved.

An employee has tried to open a PowerPoint that was saved in the forma
for all versions, but gets the Error 1309 when trying to open. She ha
PP installed, and never had this problem before now. What could b
causing this problem

I have never seen an error 1309 when opening a PPT file. What is the rest of
the error message text?

What version of PPT is the user trying to open the file with?

She is using W2K and I believe Ofc2K, possibly OfcXP. The only thin
that displays is Error 1309. This happens when she tries to launch th
PP document from any location in any format

So it doesn't say something like

Error 1309: Error reading from file blah blah ?

If she can open other PPT files, then I'd assume this one is corrupt and use
the troubleshooting steps described at
