Error 1311 missing source file

D

David

I am trying to reinstall Office as a hopeful solution to an Outlook problem
and whether I try to reinstall or repair, it stops about 105 into the process
saying:
Error 1311 Source file not found D:\ZF561407.CAB (D being the OEM cd rom).
Why would it be looking for a file that obviously doesn't exist since it is
not on the CD. I searched the D drive and it does not exist there. And it
doesn't exist on the C drive either so it has never been part of Office as
Office has been functioning fine for a long time.

Is there a work around on this to bypass the error or does anyone know where
I can go get the file?

JoAnn and anyone else who sees this: thank you for the link and the advice to
check it with my virus program before installing. The file at this link has
11 virus and adware files on it. Definitely do not install it.

This is amazing. Why is a MS install cd that came with my computer asking
for a file on itself that is missing? Obviously this is common enough that
some jerk has exploited it as a device to infect everyone.

My guess is that you started with a preinstalled version of Office but
bought the full version later - but not the same version.

I'm sorry that the link couldn't help. I honestly didn't know so I'm really
glad I warned you first and that you checked it. I will never recommend that
site again.

It is just the cd that came with the Dell system. It came loaded with the
full version. I guess we are just dead in the water and unable to get our
Outlook email problem solved. We can't get a fix in Outlook and can't even
reinstall Office. Some days I am not a big MS fan. Thanks for your help.
