Hi,
In advanced thanks for the help
I just bought Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 and am trying to
install it.
When it gives the choice to upgrade or custimize i choose upgrade
then it begins to instal and gets three quarters of the way there and the
message comes up "Error 1311. Source File not found: F:\SKU1CA.CAB. Verify
that the file exists and that you can access it." it then gives me the option
to retry or to cancel
i have tried to "retry" but it comes up with the same error message
i have tried to end installation and restart it

I have no clue what else to do
please help

When prompted for the sku1ca.cab file, insert your Office 2003 Small
Business Edition CD.

Hi John
Just bought Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 and am trying to

then it begins to instal and gets three quarters of the way there and the
message comes up "Error 1311. Source File not found: G:\PA561401.CAB. Verify
that the file exists and that you can access it." it then gives me the option to re try or cancell. Microsoft told me that you get this error 1311 because you are trying to install over Office XP professional, but I told him I only wanted to upgrade Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, anyway he persuaded me to un-install Office XP Professional and install Office Home and Student 2007 and it works ok no errors at all, the only problem now is that I have lost Access and Publisher from Office XP Professional.
Microsoft help are supposed to be calling me back with a answer, I wonder if
Bill Gates would help.

Thanks for the tips here!

Why doesn't Microsoft put a dialog in to ask for the previous version CD
instead of giving this completely useless error message. After trying the
"copy files to a temp folder and run setup" fix, it still gave me an error
for the CD drive. If I hadn't seen that, I might not have tried switching out
for the old disk. Is this just another form of anti-piracy so you can't
upgrade a version unless you have the 5 year old (or older) disk? I installed

when you deleted 2003 did you lose your files or were they still there when
you installed 2007?
