Error 1324 during installation of addtional components

H

Herbert Chan

Hello,

I'm using Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional. When I am using Excel, I
want to use the addin. However, when Excel tries to install the necessary
components, the following error is encountered:

Error 1324. The folder path '?--[[-|' contains an invalid character.

Then the installation stops and nothing is installed.

How do I rectify this problem?

Thanks.

Herbert

Hi Herbert,

I'm not clear if this is installing MS Office 2000 or if you're using a 3rd party add-in and trying to install it.

Error 1324 issues often relate to a Windows problem with some long file names, but the solution can vary by Windows version, among
other things. See if this article, or the one it links to at the bottom of the article applies.

I'm just trying to use the networkdays function in Excel, which is one of
the addins within Excel. It's in the Analysis Toolpak. So it's not a 3rd
party addin.

I'll try to see if the KB helps.

Thanks.
