I am trying to install Office xp standard upgrade on to a
windows 2000 machine with a previous installation of
office 97. during the install I get an error: Error 1402.
Could not open key
Hkey_localMachine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion
\setup\optionalcomponents\MAPI. Verify that you have
sufficient access to that key, or contact your support
personnel. installation cannot proceed.

Then setup does a rollback and exits.
Help.
