Error 1402

I am trying to install Microsoft Office 2003 on to machine with Windows XP
Svs Pack 2. Office 2000 has been uninstalled prior to installation Office
2003 attempt.

Receive error 1402

Tried this and can not get past hkey_local_machine_software_classes_software
Can not edit permission at second software.

path ends at hkey_local_machine_software_classes_software

remaining path does not exist in registry ....
