Error 1402

With register keys reflecting MAPI and MIGRATION DLLS when trying to do a
Office Update from Microsoft. Could this be an issue if we have imaged the
harddrives in the past, yet we have a volume license for our company in which
everyone has a legal copy.

J&J. I don't know if your situation is already resolved and you did not
provide more info about the error. About 2 years back, I twice ran into
something similar when I tried to upgrade MS Office 2000 Pro to 2003 Pro.
The error was:
Error 1402. Could not open key:
HKLM\software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\OptionalComponents\MAPI.
Verify that you have sufficient access to the key...etc.

In one instance, I deleted the entire keybranch "OptionalComponents" and
manually recreated it. I followed a similar approach with the keybranch
"Migration DLLs" (found under....\Setup keybranch).
In the second instance, I (as Administrator) checked the Permissions of the
keybranch Setup and assigned Administrator and System full control of the
keybranch. For some reason, neither object had rights to it.
