This week, my company has pushed out the latest set of updates which MS
put on our WSUS server. On one of our laptops (Dell Latitude D620),
the updates for Office would not install. I have trying repairing
Office and Windows, but nothing worked. We have 300 other PCs in the
environment in which the updates ran successfully, including 9 other
laptops utilizing the same image as this laptop. This laptop was just
deployed for the first time in the environment 30 days ago. The event
viewer logs focus on msiinstaller as the source. Included in this are
the following errors:
Product: Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 - Update 'Update
for Office 2003 (KB919029): LCCWIZ' could not be installed. Error code
1603.
Product: Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 - Update 'Update
for Outlook 2003: Junk E-mail Filter (KB925534): OUTLFLTR' could not be
installed. Error code 1603.
Product: Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 - Update 'Security
Update for Excel 2003 (KB925257): EXCEL' could not be installed. Error
code 1603.
Product: Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 - Update 'Security
Update for Outlook 2003 (KB924085): OUTLOOK' could not be installed.
Error code 1603.
Any suggestion on what I could do? 10 other updates (XP and IE) all
installed without issue. Suggestions would be welcomed greatly.
