Error 1605

I downloaded Office Service Pack 3 and now when I attempt
to use a template in Power Point I get a Windows Installer
Error message 1605. Knowledge Base Article 327975
requires the uninstalling of several programs. Is this
necessary are can I just delete the office GUID to solve
the problem. I have tried system restore but it will not
restore prior to the SP3 download.

Chuck,

I think you would be rather brave to try. I checked out the registry area
the kb article refers to and I have only two products listed. I realise you
may have many more, but do you really want to just delete the entries? To
me, if you just delete the entry, and not uninstall the actual product,
there is a high risk of having a number of products that may not work, or
may not reinstall/ repair when you want them to.
