Hi There,
I have a problem with Word for windows. I have four user profiles on my
computer which runs using XP home edition. Three of the user profiles can
open, edit, cut/paste, copy, save, email etc. word documents without any
problems. The fourth however cannot access the program or any docs created by
it, directly from thier icons, I keep getting a window saying that windows is
configuring Office 2000, followed immediately by an "Error 1606: Could not
access network location" After canceling these messages about 3/4 times, Word
launches, allowing me then to load Word Documents.
I have moved, re-named, deleted and re-created various documents and icons,
including the one pinned to the start menue, but this has had no effect. I
have checked registry values as suggested in the microsoft support web pages
and all is as it should be, and I have tried to use the Detect and Repair
within the program itself, but this just returns the same error as previously
described.
I would be most grateful if someone out there could give me a clue, or point
me in the direction of a solution. Unfortunately, I can't just reinstall
Office because I don't have an installation CD, the software came already
installed.
Cheers in advance
Rob
