Error 1606

Whenever I open Outlook, I get the following message:
Microsoft Office Outlook cannot read the add-in.
Microsoft Office Outlook cannot install necessary files due to Windows
Installer Error 1606.
Feature ID not recognized.

Does anyone have any idea what this means and how to rectify it. I
ultimately just click through and get rid of the notice, but am still
concerned that performace issues with Outlook may be attributed to this
warning.
