Error 1608 during install

While trying to upgrade Office XP Standard to Office XP
Pro (to install Access), the setup process cannot find a
qualifying product on C: and prompts for the drive to
search. After selecting E: (the drive where Office XP is
installed), the setup process terminates with error
1608. Does anyone know what this means or what the
problem may be? Thanks. B

Hi B.,

MS Office XP does not recognize another Office XP
product as an upgrade qualifier, only an Office 97
or 2000 product.

You will be able to upgrade from Office XP Standard
Edition to MS Office System 2003 Professional
