1) There is no such product as 'Office Works'
2) Had you read the side of the box more carefully you would have
discovered that Works is *NOT* a qualifying product for Office XP. You'll
just have to hope that, wherever you purchased it takes opened returns,
though, I really rather hope it doesn't - would teach you a lesson.

Not really very helpful are you?

Stryder

Perhaps if you explained yourself a bit better you may get a better
response. I for one, don't really understand what you mean.

Hi Stryder,

Office XP upgrade editions require that you have a
CD available for either Office 97 or Office 2000
as a qualifying product.
http://microsoft.com/office/howtobuy

Error 1608 is the error you get when Office XP setup
cannot find an installed copy and it is not 'fed'
one of those CDs during setup.

MS offers 30day money back guarantee on the Office
software.

I'm sorry, I really don't see how I can be much clearer *WORKS IS NOT A
QUALIFYING PRODUCT FOR OFFICE XP* - that any better for you?!
