error -16999 ????

Hi,

My entourage program has suddenly started giving me an error stating: "the
POP server returned an unexpected reply to a command that entourage
issued, -16999) when connecting to the server to get mail. I can access my
account over the internet but suddenly not through entourage. I am working
on a G4 running OS 9.2.2. Tech support in my company is for PC only and I
am at a loss at what has gone wrong, any idea how to resolve this?

This error is a known problem: "This behavior can occur if a damaged message
on your e-mail server prevents access to the rest of your e-mail."

and Microsoft have a way of fixing it:
