Error 1706 in Office 2000

I have upgraded the Windows Installer into version 2.0 in
a Windows XP machine. But I find that one local admin
user run the windows installer when I start the apps. of
office 2000, then it appear error 1706 three times and
end up, can anyone help me, please?

There's a number of articles in the MS knowledge base on error 1706 and
early installer terminatation with Office 2000. Go to
support.microsoft.com and then to the knowledge base, set the product to
office 2000 and search for 1706.
