I have searched around quite a bit and can't find any answer to this. I
installed Office 2000 and all the Office updates right after Win XP (both
Professional) and all its updates (except Service Pack 2; work doesn't trust
it yet & has a supplementary application to do most of the security things it
does). Whenever I try to use an Office application as a limited user, a
little window appears claiming Office is searching for install files and then
spits out an Error 1706, can't find whatever it's looking for. I press
Cancel, the situation repeats usually 3 times total, and then the application
starts. If I've launched it by double-clicking a document, the document does
not show up, although I can use Open and find it. It appears to just be a
nuisance. I had the problem as an administrator but when I used Detect and
Repair it fixed that.
Do I just live with this or run everything as an administrator or what?
