Error 1706 when opening Word 2000?

I started getting an annoying error msg 1706 after just downloading Office
SP3 update this past week. It appears to be trying to install using a CD. It
occurs everytime I open Word 2000 and asks me to agree to the EULA before can
use the program. How can I solve this problem easily since I am not very tech
saavy? Is ther a patch in the works?
