error 1706

I'm trying to import Act 2006 into my MS Outlook 2003 but I keep getting this
message error 1706 I cannot find my installation disk I have a dell it is 3
years old i'm not sure I receive an installation disk for MS Office, can
anyone help me with this error. I have done some downloads from MS web and
have gone in to updates add/remove and hit change, but I still get the
error. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Kelly,

A 1706 error is basically asking for the original installation media, be it from a hard drive, network drive or a CD. Basically,
either something is slightly broken in your Office installation (which wouldn't be too surprising if the Act! add-ins have been
installed or removed) and the MS Installer program is asking for the original CD to be able to initiate repairs to Office.

You may need to contact Dell and/or MS support to purchase a replacement CD.
