Error 1706

On our home machine, we have Windows 2000 Professional and
Office. I have installed SR-3 to the administrators
account and everything there works fine.

However, when my wife tries to open Word, there is always
a dialog describing that Word SR-1 is installing. Hitting
cancel will cause Word to open where it can be used.
There is at times a dialog box that refers to Error 1706.

What do I need to do to allow her to open Word without it
having to re-install each time and keep from getting the
Error 1706.

I have tried to find this error 1706 without success by
searching on the website. So I hope I'm in the right
place. Thanks, Dean

This may just be a corruption in your wife's login. Try creating anew
Phantom user and see if it works Ok for it. If it does, then it is probably
the profile. You will probably have to delete it and recreate a new profile.
