What does: Error: -18600 mean in Entourage 2008?

We have many errors listed on the Error Page, but this one is not listed.
Often errors close in number have similar solutions that can help.

Are you referring to the forum option to "email me?" This is not controlled
by Entourage.

Did you realize this is not a web forum, but a web interface to this
newsgroup? The Mactopia web interface is just one way to access. If you can
do an email, then you can use the Entourage newsreader.

Another benefit is messages are downloaded and searchable by Entourage's
Spotlight search. By clicking on the "more" button you can get older
messages to search for help.

How to subscribe to the Microsoft Entourage newsgroup

These are the active newsgroups:

microsoft.public.mac.office
microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage
microsoft.public.mac.office.word
microsoft.public.mac.office.excel
microsoft.public.mac.office.powerpoint

Hope this helps!

The email is sent when I make a post myself here and I am sent a copy of the post that I made.

That sounds like the way the forum is set up. We have no control over it.
For me I get the error when I change the DNS server setting on my Mac

I can see how inserting the wrong setting could cause Entourage to fail
connecting.

I suggest using the OpenDNS settings.

First, try clearing your computer's DNS cache. It's quick and causes no
Harm:

1. Open the Terminal application found in /Applications/Utilities.
2. Enter this command followed by a return:

dscacheutil -flushcache (for Leopard)
lookupd -flushcache (for Tiger)

3. Try your download again. Your machine should have to query your DNS
servers again for an address.

If the above doesn't work then your ISP's DNS servers are still causing
you a problem. Look into using <http://www.opendns.org/> to substitute
your ISP's DNS server addresses with this service's DNS servers.

You might also consider just using these new DNS server addresses
permanently. See if your speed accessing websites improves and note
whether or not you have fewer or more problems connecting to sites.

Hope this helps!

The DNS server I am trying to use is OpenDNS. Does Entourage save a detail error log?

I have found that it is some kind of cnflict with the server settings and OpenDSN, but I am close to geting it to work. I am now with the error: -3259
