Error 1919 during fresh install of Office XP Pro.

Attempting to install Office XP Pro on an XP computer.
Setup fails with the 1919 error mentioned in "OFFXP: Error
1904 and Error 1919 When You Try to Repair Office". I am
able to run the Oainst.exe app. I can't find a "System
Files Update" icon so I presume I should run the OSP.msi
install. It immediately quits saying it is not required to
be run for Office XP.

I attempted to rerun the install of Office XP and got the
same 1919 error, so Oainst.exe changed nothing.

What next?

Hi Doug,

There can be a couple of reasons for these errors,
often related to having removed/erased either an
older Office version or a 3rd party product.

has the details for installing the OSP.msi

Are you getting any other errors or more specific
messages, including specific files it's having trouble
with?

Are all other apps/utilities/antivirus shutdown when
running setup?
