I have xp home. I recently purchased ms office 2000. While I was installing
it two issues came up:
Error 1919. Error configuring ODBC data source: dBASE Files. ODBC error 6:
Verify that the file dBASE Files exists and that you can access it.
and
windows installer error 1635
The above issue came up after I installed MS office 2000 on my desktop with
XP home as my OS.
Now, I must share with you that about 95 % of Office is functional, the
issues that I have discovered so far are that I can not make MS Word my
default email editor and the help files in most of the office programs are
not loaded. When I search "help" it tells me that it is not installed would I
like to install it. I attempt too and the Error 1919 comes uo with options to
"retry" "ignore" or cancel, When I ignore the windows installer error then
comes up.
I am sorry for the long post!
I am not crafty enough to rework my registry, I am a novice at best. I would
appreciate any and all help!
