error 1919

Does anyone know what this message means?
"Error 1919.Error configuring ODBC data source: MS Access Database. ODBC
error 6. Component not found in the registry. Verify that the file MS Access
Database exists and that you can access it."

Im getting this whenever i run Detect and Repair in my Office 2003 Pro. I
also get it when I try repair using the disc, or try running Reinstall. Is
this an Office file or a System file of some sort? I could try uninstalling
but then I might find I can install afterwards? all help appreciated.

1) make sure all component was fully install (that mean Full Version install
in Office2003)
2) try to Update Office 2003 Service Pack 2

tks yes. ive done both of them. I think ive finally fixed this but it was a
nightmare.
I tried the xp Recovery disk and repaired but that didnt do it...ie didnt
replace the missing Mdac registry files which is the cause.
Later, with the help of an HP phone support person (Hp email support is
totally useless and dangerous) we solved it by finding the Mdac installation
file in C/Windows/inf and hitting Install. It prompted for the XP disc, where
I was able to find the files and reinstall them. AFter that detect and repair
works again.
No fun though. tks for your reply.
