Error 1935 while trying to install Office 2007 Beta on Vista 5384

I have tried 5 times now, to install Office 2007 beta on Vista beta 2 build
5384. I get the error "Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation
of assembly component {97F8-etc etc}. HRESULT: 0x007054F

Running as an administrator does not solve this, nor does only trying to
install Word and Excel. I have also tried with antivirus, windows defender
and UAC all disabled, still doesn't work

Any solutions are appreciated.

Have you tried a clean install? Format and install? If you are not willing
to format the machine, then you should not be running anything beta on it.

Mick,

You need to do a "clean boot" and can find the instructions here:
support.microsoft.com/downloads --> KB article: 310353 (clean boot)
I suffered from the same issue. You must also uninstall Windows Defender.
Even though you are changing the startup, it seems to not effect Windows
Defender therefore uninstalling is the only option. Office installs and works
awesome now!! Good Luck
