error 2349 Fix please I Only have dvd rw

Just got a new PC, but cannot install dsc 2 of office 2000 - I get an error
2349 message. As the only fix I could find was "install using a CD Rom " I am
at a loss as I don't want the added expence of getting another CD rom player.
any ideas for a work around so i can get my publisher files usable again?

Can you network to a unit that has a compatible CD drive, and install
from there?

I have got a CD drive on my old PC, but have no idea about networking -

In a nutshell you will need to enable printer and file sharing on the
connected PC's and then "share" the drive. Instructions can be found in
Start, Help and Support, search term "Peer-to-Peer".
