error 3343 Unrecognized Database Format

Hi,
We use on a Windows 2000 Server fully patched running Access 2000 fully
patched a application that crash from time to time with this error "error
3343 Unrecognized Database Format", we use the compact tool in Access and
everything return to normal. That error appears at random, a couple of times
a day, then nothing for a day... pretty weird...

Any ideas ?
