Error "500 ST not understood" and website publishing fails

I used FP 2002 to create our website. It's very basic - no frills. It is
being hosted by earthlink. Yesterday I made a change and tried to publish a
new index page. I keep getting an error message "500 ST Not Understood" from
Front Page. "0" information transfers to the earthlink server and at
present, the site comes up as only one blank page. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled FP2002 - nothing changed. I have contacted ELink and they tell
me it's a FP problem. Can anyone give me direction? I don't normally do
websites, so I'm not terribly technical.

A 500 error "normally" indicates a permissions issue on the server.

Thanks Steve - I just got done talking to them again and they've told me it
is Front Page and that their server is fine. Is trying to just move to
another web hosting company in order? Sorry - I've been at this all day, my
nerves are shot.

What happens if you try to open the remote site in FrontPage??
