Error Accessing The System Registry (Mac10.4.10/Excel 11.3.5)

I have a Mac Book Pro, 10.4.10, running Excel 11.3.5... yesterday
(7/31/07) I downloaded the update for itune and Quicktime, and since
then the excel macros are not opening anymore giving me the error
message above. Also, I noticed after the update that the dock was all
of the sudden on the bottom instead of the left anymore... Microsoft
indicated the automatic software update was faulty, so I reinstalled
Quuicktime via the Apple site again, but it did not solve the problem.
Does anybody have an idea to fix this ?
