Error after Hibernation

I am writing a document that is stored on my local harddrive on a different
partition to windows and office. Whenever I return from hibernating my laptop
and the document is left open, this error appears:

"Word cannot establish a network connection with this document after the
system resumed from suspend mode. Save the document into a different file to
keep any changes"

This was happening when I was at home, off the network, and when I'm at work
on a large network.

What is causing word to think the file is on the network?

I've tried saving it again over the odl file on my harddrive, but the error
still repeats.

I am currently looking into a fix for this problem myself. MS Word,
surprisingly, doesn't have a fix or anywhere to look into this in its help
system. Not that I would recommend it.

I've not seen any problems reported with Word after Hibernation.

What version of Word and OS are you using?
Are they patched fully up to date?
Is the motherboard BIOS patched fully up to date?
