error after installing sp3

after installing sp3 for office 2000, i get error message
when trying to open publication:"the instruction at
0x77fcc453 referenced memory at 0x00000000: the memory
couldn't be written."

This error is usually due to a faulty printer or video driver. Try opening Publisher
in Safe Mode, if it works go to the manufacturer's web site and look for an updated
drivers. Most of the time it will be the printer.
