Error applying transforms

I am trying to update my Office 2000 installation. upon
trying to install SP1a it reports that it is unsucessful.
I am now trying to unstall the entire office suite and
upon clicking remove I get the error "Error applying
transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are
valid." Any clues?

Did you install from an administrative installation point?

If so, does this help?
