error: cannot install, previous version present

Hi all,
I have Windows98SE with officeXP. When I try to load
Project2002 Standard it tells me there is a previous
version running and therefore cannot install. When I
explore the cd and try to install it manually I get error
message 25506 stating that my MSVCRT40.DLL is the wrong
version, mine is version 4.10.0.6038 and it should be
4.22.0.0
Any thoughts?
