Error Code -10660

Hello-

I have Tiger running on my iMAC and recently ran the uninstall of the
Microsoft Office Test Drive. Now everytime I double click on a Word
Doc, I get the aforementioned error.

What does it mean? I am still able to open the document by dragging
the file over the Word icon in my toolbar, so what gives?

Thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

I'm not sure of a few things from your description, but try this: Do a Get
Info (Command>i) on any Word doc in the Finder. In the "Open With" section,
choose (or navigate to) the *correct* (non-test drive) Word application.
Click Change All. Does that fix it?

If not, post back with additional information like: Did you run the removal
tool on the Test Drive *before* installing the full version?

I am encountering the same issue as the original post in this thread
Identical, in fact. I took your advice, with the Get Info and Chang
All. No dice. The error code still pops up.

I did install the Office Suite *before* I removed the Test Driv
version. Any further thoughts?

I am having a similar problem. Word Test Drive was removed after the
full version of Office was installed. It was removed while logged-in as
the second user. Everything works well when logged-in as the
administrator, but the error code appears when logged-in as the second
user.

Sorry: You will have to remove BOTH the Test Drive AND the Licensed
version, using the Office Remover, then install only the licensed version
and its latest Service pack.

I know: It's stupid. The installer used with the licensed version "should"
check for the Test Drive version and fully remove it, but it doesn't. It's
a deeply embarrassing bug, and I do wish they would get off their dingers
and fix it :)

Cheers
