Error code 501 5.7.1

When I try to send, reply or forward e-mails in Outlook 2002 I get the
following error message:
501 5.7.1 This system is not configured to relay mail from <sender> to
<receiver> for 68.208.222.226

Are you connected to the ISP/network that the SMTP (outgoing mail) server
you're trying to use is part of?

We are using a P2P network and I have used the network wizard to set up my
computer as part of the workgroup. When I go into system it shows my computer
as part of the network.

But unless your email address's domain matches the domain of the SMTP server
you're using to send your mail, you are relaying and the SMTP server will
stop you. Provide the appropriate credentials to the outgoing server in
order to do that.

Thank you but I am not an IT expert. I have the correct info in my Outlook
as the "Send test message" works when I check the info in the e-mail set-up
box. I can ping all the other users on my network but can not ping the ISP.
What do you mean by credentials?

You don't need to be one.

I have the correct info in my
Outlook as the "Send test message" works when I check the info in the
e-mail set-up box.

That test doesn't completely exercise the entire path from client to server
and back again.

I can ping all the other users on my network but
can not ping the ISP.

If you can't ping the ISP, that could explain why you can't send mail.
However, it could also mean you have a firewall blocking ICMP packets. Cal
you telnet to port 25 of the SMTP server you have defined? Click Start>Run,
enter "cmd" in the Open field and click OK. In the command prompt window
you get, enter

telnet yourservername 25

and see what happens.

What do you mean by credentials?

The username and password your ISP gave you for your mail account.

That's the correct address for tngindustrial. You could also use
smtp.tngindustrial.com or mailserver1.tngindustrial.com (the _real_ name of
the mail server). You must also be using a tngindustrial.com domain for
your mail address. If not, then you'll need to add the tngindustrial
username and password you were assigned on the Outgoing Server tab of your
account properties.
