error connecting to database

I've linked the shape in my visio drawing to an excel worksheet and created a
corresponding dsn for it(i've tried all three types)....but it will only
update the databse(simultaneously thru macros) and not refresh the shape's
custom properties from the excel worksheet....keeps throwing up this error
that the table is not specified in the odbc data source even thought i've
created a seprate dsn everytime........on another pc it only refreshes and
doesn't update!(so i'm pretty sure that the macros are ok)....any ideas as to
what's causing this?

you might start first by turning on ODBC trace and examining what is
happening there to see who is flagging the error (done from the odbc panel
for your connection).

thanks..i'll try that.....by the way ....I just tried the same thing on
Access and got the same error while trying to update the shape's custom
properties from the database......
