All of the sudden I get the following message when I try to log in to
Microsoft Office XP Professional Version 2002

Error: Could not start Event Logger

Then I get is a blue screen with no start icon or desk top icons.

I found a way of getting the desk top icons and start menu back by taking
the following steps:
1 - pressing CTRL-ALT-DELETE
2 - Clicking Task Manager
3 - then clicking New Task
4 - typed in "C:\WINNT\explorer.exe
5 - click enter

The desk top items show up with the start menu. The computer operates fine
but I have go through the steps everytime I turn on the computer.

How do I solve this problem for good? I think it has something to do with
the explorer.exe file in SYSTEM32 but I do not how to fix it.

I tried reinstalling Office XP but the error message stills shows up please
HELP!!!

I found the solution to the problem.

Just locate the file name "explorer" which does not have an associated
extension or icon. It should be the only file with no icon or file extension
name associated with it. In other words there should be only one explorer.exe
file on your computer you do not need two of them.

I want to thank you for posting this info. I can't see why Microsoft
can't do the same thing, with obviously, a common problem. Instead they
want us to pay $35 per incedent for email or phone support. They can
blow it out their behinds. Thanks again, Jeff. 8)
