Error Creating Subweb

Hi,

I'm having a problem with creating a sub web. On one
particular project, I get and error message "Error
occurred when creating subweb. Subweb does not seem to
exist". I then partially makes the subweb folder under
the wwwroot folder, but it's not registering. I then
manually delete the subweb folder and try again. Same
results. I have also entered in the path to the
incomplete subweb and delete it in the Manage subwebs
page. What do I need to do to create the clean subweb?

If I edit the subweb address and open it, the page
displays "The list or view of a list that is referenced
here no longer exists. The list or view of a list that is
referenced here no longer exists."

Just wanted to add that information.
