Error Deleting File or Folder. Access is denied. The file may be in use.

Running ME 4.90
Office 2000

Problem:

After creating a file and saving it in WORD. I can not
then delete it from the hard disk. Will access the menu
displaying "MY DOCUMENTS", select the file, right click
and attempt to delete. Menu "Confirm file Delete"
appears, when started, gives an error message " Error
Deleting (file name)access is denied. The source file may
be in use". Can delete the file using the START button,
Documents and delete file option. Also, can delete
(erase) a file from the DOS prompt. Any help would be
appreciated.

Hi John,

Are you trying to delete the file in an Open or Save As dialog box? If
you are and the Preview is turned on then you will be unable to delete
since it is in use in the Preview.
