Hi, I've installed project server but when I'm trying to connect
remotely, I'm getting such message:

*The controls for Project Web Access could not be downloaded correctly.
Please check your security settings in Internet Explorer or contact your
system administrator.*

When connecting from server everything is OK.

BTW Site is added as trusted, have also tried seetting security level to
minimum, nothing happend.

Thank's for your help.

Something is blocking these from installing, or your system has issues. Make
sure that your Advanced security settings allow unsigned ActiveX
installation and scripting. Check with your network engineers to make sure
that there are no network prohibitions set through security policies and
make sure you have the latest version of MDAC and no browser add-in software
installed.

Hello, thanks for your answer.

I've tried on several systems always same result.

I have allowed unsigned ActiveX to be downloaded. There are no network
issues, and when I've tried to (re)install MDAC 2.8 I've got such info
(in Polish):

*MDAC 2.8 RTM is not compatible with this Windows version. All of his
functions are part of Windows system*

I think that something may be wrong on the server side

Well, the error indicates that you have XP with SP2 as this is the first OS
to incorporate 2.8. Along with SP1 comes a beefed up built-in firewall.
Disable the XP firewall and see how that goes.

With disabled firewall same effect, what else can I try?

What do you mean when you say you are "trying to connect remotely"?

Are you trying to access Project Server through a VPN connection from
outside the network?

Exactly what steps do you take to connect remotely?

Hello, not via VPN, just simple from another computer, and problem is
using LAN and Internet.

Steps:

1. Start IE.
2. Type address http://....
3. Type user, pass, submit
4. Accept EULA
5. Message with animation "downloading web components" (or something
like that) appears
6. I'm redirected to error page.

May I suggest attempting to access it from another computer to verify the
problem is on the server as oppose to the client?

We are having the same problem, however our issue is clients running vpn and
citrix/terminal services get that error and no security tweaking on the
client pc will fix it. Mr. McTaggart, have you successfully connected through
VPN? If so, any pointers?

Thanks
-Matt
