Error: File {name} is not available 2007

Office 2007 SP1
Opening any Office .docx or .doc
Msg: File [name] is not available

I began receiving this message after a year of successful use of 2007. I
cannot open any documents whether created on this machine or another. Other
posts discuss NAV settings, but I don't have and never have had Norton on
this machine. OpenOffice has no problems opening any of the documents.
