HAVING FOUND TERRIBLE SHORTCOMINGS ON THIS NEW ACCESS VERSION,,, I HAVE TRIED
TO WORK AROUND MANY, MANY PITFALLS AND THOUGHT A REAL EFFORT WOULD BE MADE ON
NEW UPDATES. INSTEAD I have gotten the B2TR UPDATE INSTALLED AND NOW I HAVE
A NEW PROBLEM. WHEN I OPEN A DATABASE, ANY DATABASE, I START GETTING THE
MENTIONED ERROR AND A WINDOW MESSAGE THAT REFERS TO MANY LINES WITH THE SAME
MESSAGE: ERRON FOUND IN CUSTOM UI XML: LINE: 1 , COLUMN: 381 ERROR CODE
0X80004005, THE ATTIBUTE 'VISIBLE' ON THE ELEMENT
(http:/schemas.microsoft.com/office/2006/01/customui)separator' is not
defined in the DTD/Schema.........
apparenlty, it refers to the separator bar used in quick access bar to
separate icons for created items... I tried removing separators from the
propietary database quick access bar and it helped, but still problem
remained because I have separators, which I must have, in the global quick
access bar. Anyone know how to get rid of error??

What on earth are you talking about?

I'm sure YOU know what you're playing with, but how would we know what version
of MS-Access, or what version of custom UI, or whatever you know you're
playing with and forgot to tell us?

Chris

PS CAPITALS are hard to read

PPS Anyone know how to get rid of error??
It's hard to say, do you think you should tell us the precise product and
version getting the error? You say "terrible shortcomings" (meaning more than
one terrible). What shortcomings exactly? On what product exactly? Are they
shortcomings (doesn't do what you want), or merely bugs? (doesn't do what they
say it does)

Because I was directed by a Link from Office 2007 beta with B2tr update, I
assumed it was identified. I also thought relating to the B2TR was a
give-away.
The problem with UI is definitely related to "separator" bars in the quick
access custom menu icons added to the individual database. With separators I
get the message and also loose modified icons. Without , problem goes away
and modified icons remain.

With regards to indeed multiple problems, especialy in Outlook and Access, I
will be glad to send an excel generated list, as they are "Multiple". Most
of them have been mentioned in feedback page of Office 2007, but almost all
of them remain after the b2tr "improvement ????" Let me have an e-mail
address and I will send you list, if interested.

Thankyou for saying you are referring to Access2007 (Office2007).

My understanding is that Access2007 (Office2007) is in beta-test stage, which
means that all users are testing it for Microsoft. Perhaps you should refer
your difficulties to Microsoft, which is the purpose of a beta-test.

(these Access newsgroups are NOT Microsoft sites, they are user-newsgroups and
only {kindly} hosted by Microsoft)

Any Microsoft employee usually has "MS" or such in their name, and they
occasionally respond here, but I'm not an employee of Microsoft and neither
are most respondents here.

Whereas, I thought a beta-test involved a direct feedback to Microsoft?

Unfortunately, Microsoft treats them as online help, since they're directing
users to them.

Only true Beta testers who sign the NDA get access to the Beta newsgroups.
Now that the Beta's been made public, Microsoft is on record as saying that
the public newsgroups are the appropriate forum for questions about the
Beta.

Certainly not a desirable situation, but it's the reality of the situation.
