If you have .jpg files (or any media files) over 1MB, I suspect you will have major problems importing and publishing the site w/ FP
If you host supports subwebs, I would recommend creating a new folder for them (say media) and converting that folder to a subweb
(right click the folder to convert to web)
- then do not Publish that subweb or even open it in FP
- use Windows Explorer to copy the large files to the new folder on your local PC web
- use a 3rd party FTP program to upload those large files to your server
Setting it up as a subweb will keep the FP root web from been affected by the FTP
To easily link to the Huge images, before you convert it to a subweb
- copy some small filesize images (using identical names to your large ones) into that media folder an create your hyperlinks
- then convert it to a subweb and copy you real images (per above) into the same folder
IMHO
If the site will have .jpgs over 1 MB
- Don't let us know the URL (-:
- consider some serious image compression
| Thanks, I'll give it a go, I am attempting one file at a
| time but they are all over 1.3Mb, I'll find some smaller
| ones and experiment.
