I am getting an error message whe attemtping to import
files into FrontPge 2000, "An error occurred accessing
your FrontPage web files, Authors - if authoring against a
web server, please contact the webmaster for this server's
site. Webmasters - please see the servers system log for
more details." I get the same message if I attempt to
drag and drop files into FP as well. Any pointers?

Are you attempting to import "text type" files into _hidden folders? (known problem)

If it is several files try it in stages less than 1 MB
- several users have reported problems w/ files >1 MB

| Thanks for the response, I am trying to import (1.3Mb)
| JPEGS into a 'normal' directory

Thanks, I'll give it a go, I am attempting one file at a
time but they are all over 1.3Mb, I'll find some smaller
ones and experiment.

If you have .jpg files (or any media files) over 1MB, I suspect you will have major problems importing and publishing the site w/ FP
If you host supports subwebs, I would recommend creating a new folder for them (say media) and converting that folder to a subweb
(right click the folder to convert to web)
- then do not Publish that subweb or even open it in FP
- use Windows Explorer to copy the large files to the new folder on your local PC web
- use a 3rd party FTP program to upload those large files to your server
Setting it up as a subweb will keep the FP root web from been affected by the FTP

To easily link to the Huge images, before you convert it to a subweb
- copy some small filesize images (using identical names to your large ones) into that media folder an create your hyperlinks
- then convert it to a subweb and copy you real images (per above) into the same folder

IMHO
If the site will have .jpgs over 1 MB
- Don't let us know the URL (-:
- consider some serious image compression

I got problem with .exe files or even with large amount of small files. When I try to import a directory with three files and total size of the exceed 1M, FrontPage give me the stupid error. I can import them one by one by can not add them at same time. Same thing happened to the other directory with a lots of small files. Any idea what we can do something with this? Thanks.
