Error in connecting to data source

Hello.

I'm trying to access a data connection via InfoPath and receive the
following messaage:

"InfoPath cannot connect to the data source. Safety settings on this
computer prohibit accessing a data source on another domain."

Can somebody please advise how to resolve this issue, and be specifi if
possible. Not that we don't have Sharepoint.

InfoPath relies on IE for trust and security. Check your settings for the
site and cross domain in general. Site should be in intranet or trusted zone.

What do you mean by "site". We have InfoPath installed on our C: drives,
and wish to have about 200 peoiple open an InfoPath form, enter data
(overtime data), and we want this data to populate a table in the background
so we can run queries against it for reporting, etc.. Please expand on what
you mean by "site" if you would please. Do you mean our Intranet home page
site?

So is this a form built around a database?

Is the dataconnection to the database the issue?

Are you using Access or SQL?

Hi Clay.

1. Yes.
2. Based on the error message, I'm not sure, but be advised that we are
connected to a corporate network so there is a possibility that network
permissions may be an issue, but based on the generality of the message, I
can't tell.
3. Access 2003.

Note that the same implementation works fine on a standalone computer in
that no error measage is recevied and connectivity to the database is
accomplised.

Hey Mark.

I would guess it is network permissions to your Access database.

Another trap can be how you connected to the database when setting up the
data connection.

You should use the UNC path \\server\share\access.mdb

If you use a map drive then they might not have that same mapping.

I have the same problem to what Mark has described, and have verified that
my data connection is the way you described. However, the problem still
persists. I also have to note that when I started developing the form, it
worked fine, but once I saved it in another location for testing it amongst
users, it started to give that message. Any idea on what I should still be
looking at?
