Error in creating a form

I am using word 2007. I have created a form using legacy tools and the
content controls. Once I thought I was finished working on the form I
proceeded to (Restrict formatting and Editing) I selected (Filling in forms)
then I clicked Yes! It worked at first.. I was able to input information in
the rich text content control boxes... Well I also have some check boxes in
there and once I click one of the boxes I can no longer edit any of the text
I previously entered... Why is this? Did I not click something?

I have (content cannot be deleted) selected in every text box.

Is there another step? Do I have to publish this beyond what I am already
doing?

This does not need to be restricted for my use!

Any thoughts or ideas on what I am missing?

I need these boxes to be checked and un-checked in word easily. I just read
through that very quickly and downloaded the zip file but it only had static
checked and unchecked boxes.? Am I missing something?

I briefly read through the page and downloaded the zip file. Unless I read
over this part all the check boxes in the file are static and need to be
checked and unchecked in word on the form. Did I miss read or read over the
part that tells me how to do this?

I am also having this problem.
I have 'rich text' boxes and check boxes.
I click on 'Start enforcing protection'
Most of time I can type in the rick tect boxes, until I click on a check
box. Then I can't type in the 'rich text' boxes anymore.

Any ideas?

I found another post from 2007 that asks the same question and has an answer
that makes sence (but is very disapointing that word has made is so difficult
to sue forms)
I don't know how to quote another messages so search for: "How to ristrict
form but allow filling forms?"

As far as I can work out you can't use both the 'legacy tools' (eg. the check
box) and the other tools listed under in the controls section (eg. rich text
field) in the same document and get it to work properly.
However you can use the "text form field" int he same document as the check
boxes. The "text form field" works pretty much the same as "rich text". You
can find "text form field" in: Developer tab | controls section |legacy tools
| text form field
If, like me, you didn't want the "text form field" to show grey on your
form, select Developer tab | controls section |legacy tools | form field
shading and then you can play with the shading etc.
Hope this helps.
