Error in email attachments within emails

Rather than forwarding individual emails a work colleague has sent an email
with a number of emails attached. When I receive the email I am unable to
open the attached emails. The attachments appear as the little page icon with
the windows logo in the centre. The error message is â€The messaging interface
has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart outlookâ€. I
have done this but it hasn’t fixed the problem. I am able to ‘save as’ into
‘My Documents’ and open them this way but it is a lot of fiddling around when
I should be able to open them within the email itself. I haven’t heard of
others having the same problem when she sends the same email to them. Any
suggestions.

When yuo save them, what file type do they have? What version of Outlook?
What type of account?

Sorry for the delay in responding Brian. It saves as a .msg file and we use
Outlook 2003. All our computers are networked but our internal helpdesk
people are unable to help me.
