Error in linking text table date field.

I am trying to link in a text table, comma separated.

Two of the fields contain date information in the form of

m/d/yy hh:mm:ss AM

The link tables wizzard correctly allows this to be linked as a date field
but the resulting linked table shows the fields as being #NUM!
