Use the Remove Office Tool to remove Office 2008 and Office 2004.
Then re-install Office 2004. Do not start any of the programs.
Apply all the latest updates to Office 2004. Then start each of the
Applications except Entourage once, to write clean preferences into the
system. Don't start Entourage: it won't be able to read the new database
and it will hang.
Now install Office 2008. Apply all the latest updates to 2008.
Shut down the system to power-off and re-start it.
Run FontBook and resolve all the duplicates by deleting the older version of
any duplicate fonts (moving or disabling does not always work: best to
delete them).
Reboot again, and you should be good to go.

I just upgraded my OS from Tiger to Snow Leopard. I was using Office 2004,
and installed Entourage 2008 but not Word/Excel/PPT 2008. Everything works,
but when I start Excel 2004, I see a window that says
"Error in loading DLL"
how do I get rid of this?
