Error in MS Publisher says has to close when I try to save as I wo

I use Publisher 98 for our church bulletin. I have no reason to upgrade as
no one else I email at church has a publisher at all. However, as I work I
am unable most
of the time to Save My Work as it will say that MS has encountered a problem
and
needs to close.

It also will do this at other times. I have to tip toe on ice when working.
For example when I go to search my clipart files to add a graphic it does
the same
thing most of the time. This is a 95% of the time problem. I ordered teh
2003
version for trial and found out it does thsi to at times. I use WIN XP and
this happens on my DELL Desktop and DELL (brand new) Laptop. My memory is
loaded as is the RAM. A lot of the times it says it is low on memory????
HELP!

See if you have the same problems if you disable your anti-virus software when
you are working with Publisher.
Even though your laptop is new doesn't mean your drivers are current. Go to the
manufacturer's web site and see if there is a newer graphics driver available.
Try using Publisher in safe mode, if the problems are not present in safe mode
you can assume you are having driver issues. It could be the printer driver. Is
it current?
